Results-160 patients were analyzed of which 80 underwent SICS and rest Phacoemulsification. There were no aphakics. Average age and gender distribution was similar in both groups. Pre op VA of all patients was worse than 6/60. In SICS group, 50 patients (62.5%) had clear cornea and VA of 6/9 and better on POD 1. By POD 7, VA of 65 patients (81.2%) improved to 6/9 and better. In Phaco group, 30 patients (37.5%) had clear cornea and VA of 6/9 and better on POD 1. By POD 7, VA of 50 patients (62.5%) improved to 6/9 and better.
