Abstract
A hamartoma is a local malformation made up of an abnormal mixture of cells and tissues. A chondroxyxoid hamartoma is a slowly growing benign tumor of chondroblastic derivative. It's a rare benign swelling found in 1% of all orbital tumors. It's treatment consist of excision followed by histopathological examination to exclude any malignant transformation. This may be associated with hyperostosis of other bones of the body, demanding a full body radiological examination as well as blood results of serum calcium, phosphorus and thyroid and parathyroid hormones.
