Abstract
This video shows the technique of orbital volume restoration by dermis fat graft in a Grade 1 Contracted Socket. There was history of evisceration, implant exposure, and subsequent implant extrusion in this 37-year-old young lady. Conjunctiva was incised and tenon’s capsule was undermined. Contracted scleral petals were opened up. Intraconal fat was exposed. FFS were placed in inferior fornix. Dimensions were measured & 30% was added to calculate the size of DFG to be harvested from the gluteal area. After infiltration with 2% xylocaine with ADR, epidermis was scraped off using scalpel No.15 Blade. Harvested graft was placed in the socket. Dermis was sutured to the edge of the anterior Tenon’s capsule and conjunctiva with 6-0 vicryl sutures. Conformer was placed in situ and lateral tarsorrhaphy was done. Conclusion: DFG can be performed as secondary procedure in case of extrusion/exposure of implant to replace orbital volume, with less chances of rejection & migration.
