Abstract

Small Incision Lenticule Extraction(SMILE) Surgery has its own learning curve and challenges.
Despite the fact that SMILE is considered the safest refractive surgery, complications can occur at any stage of the surgery.
Most of them do not have clinical significance and can be treated easily.
Usually they are associated with insufficient experience of the surgeon.
There are several complications that a beginner might face during surgery.
We shall demonstrate the surgical procedure along with challenging situations that a beginner might face during the surgery such as Suction Loss, Dark Spots , Retained Lenticule , Improper Plane of dissection and Cap Tear along with our pearls regarding their management.
SMILE Surgery was done by 500 kHz VisuMax Femtosecond Laser System.
