Abstract

An 80 year old male patient presented to our OPD with complaint mass over left eyebrow extending upto the upper eye lid crease. He gives history of RTA 8 years back following which he suffered injury to the same location and had undergone primary wound repair. Mass has gradually progressed to the present size since then. On examination, a well-circumscribed freely mobile firm mass with absent transillumination test was noted. Apart from few diffuse stain negative corneal opacities in the left eye, all other findings were normal. Patient had also undergone cataract surgery in both eyes 6 years back. On excising the lesion, surprisingly glass particles were retrieved from the excised wound which might have triggered a granuloma formation around the foreign body. The mass was then sent for histopathological examination and report came out to be foreign body granuloma.Patient tolerated the procedure well and within 2 weeks there was no residual swelling or pain.
